Sanctuary Dishonored: The Decline and Fall of the Maxfield Parrish Estate. Details

Robin Lee, through an incredible twist of fate, was invited to write and record her music, inspired by the great American artist Maxfield Parrish, at the very time his iconic art studio was on the verge of being gutted. Lee had the foresight to capture with her camera and video recorder numerous pictures and footage of Parrish's workshop and grounds just before and as they were being torn apart. This great tragedy in art history will unfold before your eyes, and Robin captures in her words and pictures the sense of wonder and shock as the process unfolded. As if guided by the restless spirit of Maxfield Parrish himself, Lee has become the messenger to the rest of the world, telling the tragic tale of what once was and is now lost to us forever, except for these pages and the subsequent works she will be releasing. 56 pages w/color photos 8.5 x 8.5

Reviews

As much as I am appreciative that SOMEONE had the concern and took the time to gather the information (that I would up the star rating on alone), but the publisher has made this very slender book out of some of the cheapest printing paper available. Notwithstanding that the printing process or humidity of the place where this was printed may have caused the problems, the book I received had the following problems:1) all the pages were not flat but had waves or ripples running through them.2) the paper stock is so thin that the photos show through to the opposite site (through the text or if there is a photo there too).3) the paper stock is such that the photos have no sharpness, so the clarity is low grade and the colors are muted (its like the colors bleed enough to destroyed the clarity).I'll not comment on the writers comments and opinions - not what I'm here for. But I will say, for all the hoopla about the interior and all, there are only exterior shots and very few of them at that - no interior photos. The book is what it is. Its still good that someone took the time to at least make this available.
