Hummingbirds of the U.S. A. is a photographic essay on the characteristics of one of our most amazing and beloved birds, which the early explorers to the New World called "Joyas Voladoras" or "flying jewels". In the first part of this book, the characteristics and life history of hummingbirds are introduced and illustrated using our photographs. The second part describes and illustrates sixteen hummingbird species found in the U.S.
