I like the John Thompson method more than Bastian, Alfred, or some of the other methods of piano for children because I am a big believer in encouraging note reading earlier rather than later, although those other methods often include more theory than the Thompson books. If you are having success with students using John Thompson, this book is a good way to build a strong theory foundation and make up for the lack of theory in the piano method books and has an engaging style for young children. Not really suitable for adolescents or adults.
